Girls first swim meet

Girls had their first swim meet.

They were VERY nervous, but did great.

Perfect Fall Day at the Lake

Lake is back to full.

A sunny 85 degrees on a fall day in September.

2011 Jog-a-thon

Maddie rocked 16 laps

1 lap = 1/8 mile

First day of School

Hard to believe school has started.

Clare (4.5) Preschool- Teachers Miss Doreen and Miss Phoebe

On to the High Dive

Clare tackles the high dive.

Walks right off the edge on the first try, doesn't look down and there's no looking back for this kid.

Clare gets new freedoms at the Pool!!!

Clare has been asking for a couple of days if she could pass the swim test at the YMCA.

She has to swim 25 yards and then tread water for 1 minute.

I knew she could do the length of the pool no problem, but the treading was a gamble.

But I let her try it.

And she passed it.

And she could barely wait for the wrist band before heading straight for the diving board.

And then she jumped once, about launching herself off it cause she wasn't used to the bounce it had.

Then headed straight to the high dive. To which I quickly intervened and asked her if she could get used to the low dive first.

She said that would be fine!

And then she jumped and jumped and jumped all evening long.

When I was putting her to bed, she told me that she was very proud of herself. The life guard told her she was one of the youngest to pass the test.
